Measurement of Voltage or Potential Difference
Calculating the value of Voltage or Potential Difference by using two formula.
1. According to Ohm’s Law, voltage is measured by the electric current (I) and resistance (R).
Voltage (V)= (Current/Resistance) (Unit- Volt)
2. From the basic definition, the potential energy is measured by using electrical potential energy and electric charge (q).
Potential Difference (V)= (Energy/Charge) (Unit- J/C or Volt)
3. According to Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law (KVL), the different voltage or equivalent voltage can be determined in a circuit.
Equivalent Voltage, Ʃ (V)= (V1 + V2 + V3 + ....... + Vn) (Unit- Volt)
Thus, you can calculated the value of potential difference or voltage into the different ways from the above formulas.
